Retired California Police Sergeant Kills Wife and Daughter Before Taking His Own Life
Authorities in Marin County, California, said retired police sergeant Kevin Mannix, 68, killed his wife, former San Francisco deputy police chief Ann Mannix, 65, and their daughter, Katie, 24, before taking his own life. Deputies responding to a call on Sunday evening found all three dead inside their home in the Strawberry area near Mill Valley. The sheriff’s office said there was no known threat to the wider community. Ann Mannix had a long career with the San Francisco Police Department. She became the first woman to serve on the department’s SWAT team and later led the unit before retiring from senior leadership.
