Police Arrest Three Suspected Cultists in Lagos-Ogun Operation, Recover Pistol
The Zone 2 Police Command has arrested three suspected members of the Eiye confraternity during an operation spanning Ikorodu, Lagos, and Ifo in Ogun State. Police said the operation followed a tip-off about suspected cult activities in Ikorodu. Detectives began surveillance on September 3 before arresting one suspect in Ifo, whose arrest reportedly led to the capture of two others in Ikorodu. A locally fabricated double-barrel cut-to-size pistol was recovered from one of the suspects. Police said he claimed the firearm was given to him by an accomplice who is still at large. The command said investigations are ongoing to find other suspected members of the network. The three suspects will be prosecuted after investigations are concluded.
