Operation Clean Sweep III: Troops Demolish Terrorist Camps in Katsina’s Matazu LGA

Troops of the Joint Task Force North West have stepped up clearance missions in Katsina State’s Matazu Local Government Area. Since the launch of Operation Clean Sweep III on 14 June 2026, forces have carried out intelligence-led raids, cordon-and-search operations and combat patrols to dismantle terrorist hideouts and logistics bases. The offensive follows the abduction and death of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar in captivity. Military officials say the targeted raids aim to break criminal networks, bring those responsible to justice and restore security across affected communities.
