Police Investigate Killing of Bolt Driver During Alleged Car Robbery in Calabar
The Cross River State Police Command has opened an investigation into the killing of a Bolt driver during an alleged robbery in Calabar early Friday. The driver reportedly picked up three unidentified men on Mbukpa Road in Calabar South. While heading towards Calabar Municipality around 5:30 a.m., the passengers allegedly ordered him to stop and surrender the keys to his Toyota Corolla. He was allegedly stabbed after resisting. The driver reportedly managed to reach a nearby filling station before the suspects fled. He was taken to a hospital, where he was confirmed dead. Police say efforts are underway to identify and arrest the suspects.
