Anambra Police Arrest Man Over Alleged Killing of Friend in Land Deal Fraud Case
Anambra Police have arrested 32-year-old Ifeanyi Nwankwo over the alleged killing of his 56-year-old friend, Kelechi Madu, in Awkuzu, Oyi Local Government Area. Police said Madu’s wife reported him missing after he left home on the evening of August 17 and failed to return. He was later found dead in a bush in Umuobi, Awkuzu, with a deep axe wound to his head. Investigators allege that Nwankwo collected money from Madu on the promise of helping him buy land. Police said the suspect allegedly hired two other people to kill Madu in an attempt to conceal the alleged fraud. The command says efforts are ongoing to arrest all other suspects.
