ADC Urges Zamfara Government to Review 2027 Campaign Permit Fees
The Zamfara chapter of the African Democratic Congress has asked the state government to review campaign permit fees introduced for political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections. The party said the fees approved by the Zamfara Urban and Regional Planning Board could create financial barriers for political parties and candidates. It called for an immediate review and wider consultation with stakeholders. The ADC said government has a right to regulate rallies, posters, billboards and the use of public spaces. However, it argued that the charges should be lawful, transparent, affordable and applied fairly to all parties.
