DSS Rescues Kibiya LG Secretary from Abductors, Arrests Two Suspects
The DSS has freed Alhaji Hamza Durya, the administrative secretary of Kibiya Local Government, after his abduction last Friday. Armed men stormed his home in Durya village and forced his son to reveal his father’s location. According to the State Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, operatives acted swiftly, securing Durya’s safe release and arresting two suspects who sustained gunshot wounds during the operation. Durya recounted being chained and blindfolded in a livestock room in Rano LGA. He said kidnappers first demanded N300 million, later reduced it to N100 million, and claimed he was close to the governor. No ransom was paid before the rescue. One arrested suspect confessed the gang came from Rijana in Kaduna State with help from local informants. The state government praised the DSS and urged residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
