Wike Dismisses Amaechi’s 2027 Election Forecast, Questions Cross River Town Hall Turnout
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has dismissed Rotimi Amaechi’s prediction that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar could win the 2027 presidential election because he may be the leading northern candidate. Speaking during a media chat, Wike said fewer than 200 people attended Amaechi’s recent town hall meeting in Cross River State. He questioned why Amaechi would present the election as already decided by the regions of the major contenders. Wike also cited the 2023 presidential election, where candidates from the North and South contested but Bola Tinubu emerged winner. He argued that the political calculations and voting patterns in 2027 may differ significantly from those of 2023.
