Nigeria’s Voter Register Grows by Nearly 10 Million Ahead of 2027
INEC says Nigeria’s voter register has risen to 103,428,715, an increase of 9,959,707 since the 2023 election register of about 93.5 million. The biggest percentage increases were recorded in Sokoto, Jigawa and Osun, while Plateau recorded the slowest growth. Ogun has also entered the list of the 10 states with the largest voter populations, replacing Plateau. The figures offer an early look at where voter strength is growing ahead of the 2027 general election. They could shape party strategies, campaign priorities and the electoral influence of key states.
