Otti Credits Abia Residents’ Prayers and Sacrifices as State Marks 35 Years
Abia Governor Alex Otti says the prayers, sacrifices and support of residents have helped drive the state’s progress over the past 35 years. Speaking at an interdenominational thanksgiving service in Umuahia to open activities for Abia’s 35th anniversary, Otti said the occasion was an opportunity to appreciate God and renew hope for the state’s future. Former Cross River Governor Liyel Imoke praised the administration’s development efforts and urged residents to sustain their support. Religious leaders also called on the governor to maintain a people-focused approach to governance. Abia State was created on August 27, 1991.
