IDF Strike on Iran’s Petrochemical Plant: What Nigeria Stands to Lose
I noticed some Nigerians celebrating the recent Israeli attack on an Iranian petrochemical plant. That reaction, to me, shows how little we understand global power dynamics. First, Iran, Israel, and many Arab states do not see black African nations as partners. They each follow their own interests and rarely consider our welfare. More importantly, any hit on critical infrastructure sends fuel prices soaring. We already feel the pinch at the pump. When essential goods double in cost, ordinary Nigerians bear the burden. Before celebrating such events, we should ask: who ultimately pays the price? Unfortunately, it’s us.
