Katsina Exco Approves ₦828.6bn 2027 Budget, Health and Transport Projects
The Katsina State Executive Council has approved a proposed ₦828.6 billion budget for 2027, tagged “Building Your Future Agenda IV.” The proposal is about ₦69.2 billion lower than the state’s 2026 approved budget and will be sent to the House of Assembly for consideration. Capital projects account for 77 percent of the proposed spending, while recurrent expenditure takes 23 percent. Key allocations include education, works, housing and transport, agriculture, health, and rural development. The council also approved additional equipment for the Advanced Imaging and Cancer Centre at General Amadi Rimi Specialist Hospital, a road project in Rafukka, and operational plans for 30 hybrid buses. The transport plan includes charging infrastructure, fleet monitoring, staff recruitment and a dedicated maintenance unit.
