IPMAN Sets Up Southeast Task Force to Curb Fuel Under-Dispensing
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Enugu Depot Community, has created a task force to ensure filling stations comply with dispensing, metering and licence-renewal rules. The association said the move follows NMDPRA’s directive for operators to calibrate and verify fuel dispensers and totalisers. The aim is to ensure customers receive the quantity of fuel they pay for. IPMAN warned that stations caught under-dispensing could face a ₦250,000 fine for a first offence. Repeat offenders risk having their facilities sealed or their licences revoked for between three and six months. The group also urged members not to tamper with sealed pumps and appealed for relief for marketers facing delays in obtaining tax-clearance documents needed for licence renewal.
