Lil Durk’s Federal Murder-for-Hire Trial Opens in California

American rapper Lil Durk has gone on trial in a federal murder-for-hire case linked to the 2022 shooting that killed Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson, cousin of rapper Quando Rondo. Prosecutors allege that Durk, born Durk Banks, conspired with members of his Only the Family collective to organise an attack on Quando Rondo in Los Angeles. Rondo survived the shooting, but Robinson was killed. Durk has pleaded not guilty and denies any role in the alleged plot. The case is also connected to the 2020 killing of rapper King Von, according to prosecutors. A conviction could bring a lengthy prison sentence, although prosecutors are not seeking the death penalty. The allegations have not been proven in court. Jurors will decide whether prosecutors can establish Durk’s involvement beyond a reasonable doubt.
