FOSAD Backs Catholic Bishops’ Call for Action on Nigeria’s Economic Hardship
The Forum of South-East Academic Doctors has backed the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria for raising concerns about the hardship facing Nigerians during its engagement with President Bola Tinubu. FOSAD said the bishops acted responsibly by speaking about rising food, transport, housing, healthcare and education costs. The group argued that hunger, inflation and poverty affect Nigerians across religious, ethnic and political lines. The forum urged the Federal Government to treat the concerns as constructive feedback and take practical steps to ease inflation, stabilise food prices, support local production, protect jobs, improve security and rebuild public trust.
