Tinubu Commissions Wasa District Infrastructure to Relocate Apo Traders
The long-delayed move of mechanics, artisans and traders from Apo Mechanic Village to the new Wasa District in Abuja has begun in earnest. President Bola Tinubu, represented by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, officially opened the access roads, power lines and water supply at the Informal Sector Layout in Wasa. He noted this fulfils a promise unkept for over a decade under previous administrations. Describing the project as an investment in “human dignity and economic freedom,” the President said quality infrastructure will transform Wasa into a thriving commercial hub. He also reiterated his commitment to inclusive development under the Renewed Hope Agenda. FCT Minister Nyesom Wike welcomed the swift delivery of the project, urging traders to settle internal disputes and prepare for relocation. He praised the administration’s follow-through compared to past promises that never materialised.
