Shettima to Represent Tinubu at 2026 BRICS Summit in India
Vice President Kashim Shettima will represent President Bola Tinubu at the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit in New Delhi, India. Nigeria plans to use the meeting to deepen diplomatic and economic ties with BRICS countries and other Global South partners. Discussions will focus on trade, investment, agriculture, energy, solid minerals, technology and innovation. Shettima is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with participating leaders and senior officials. Nigeria has been a BRICS partner country since January 2025, providing another platform to pursue markets, development finance and non-oil investment opportunities.
