Shettima Urges Retired Civil Servants to Return to Public Service When Called

Vice-President Kashim Shettima says the Federal Civil Service remains the stabilising backbone of Nigeria’s governance system. Speaking in Abuja through his Special Adviser on Special Duties, Aliyu Modibbo, Shettima urged experienced retired public servants to accept appointments when called upon. He said their institutional knowledge should be used at state and federal levels to strengthen governance. The Vice-President spoke at the unveiling of two books by former Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan. He described public service as an honourable duty and called for greater use of seasoned professionals in national development.
