SON Awards MANCAP Certificates to 117 Lagos Companies for 449 Products
The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has issued 207 MANCAP certificates to 117 companies in Lagos, covering 449 locally manufactured products. SON said the Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme confirms that products meet Nigerian Industrial Standards. Certified factories will still undergo periodic inspections, sampling and laboratory tests to maintain compliance. The certificates are valid for three years. Products that fall below the required standard may be suspended, withdrawn or required to begin certification again. SON urged consumers to look for the MANCAP logo and unique product number, which indicate that a product has been assessed for quality and fitness for use.
