Troops Rescue 119 Abducted Civilians and Recover Eight Vehicles in Borno
Nigerian troops rescued 119 civilians and recovered eight vehicles after confronting terrorists along the Dutsen Kura-Bulazarma-Kamuya road in Borno. A military operational report said the troops spotted the abduction during surveillance and forced the attackers to flee. The civilians were reunited with their families, and troops also found and detonated an improvised explosive device in the area. The report also said a suspected JAS fighter surrendered in Bama with a rifle and ammunition, while troops arrested a suspected terrorist informant in Borno. In Abuja, troops foiled an attempted abduction at a retired officer’s home; the officer and his son were injured and taken to hospital. Other operations included the arrest of two suspected burglars in Plateau and a herder over alleged malicious grazing in Benue.
