Police Arrest Four Suspects Over Deadly Robbery and Kidnapping in Akwa Ibom

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command says it has arrested four suspects over an armed robbery in Ikot Itienang Village, Ekom Eman, Etinan LGA, during which one person was killed and another abducted on July 12, 2026. Police identified two suspected gang members as Gospel Effiong, known as Python, and Solomon Okon, known as Plane. Musa Kabiru and Victor Dickson were also arrested, with Kabiru accused of receiving some of the items allegedly stolen during the operation. A search of Okon's residence reportedly led to the recovery of a locally made pistol with one cartridge, suspected cannabis, a red cap bearing a confraternity inscription, and other materials. The command said investigations are ongoing and appealed to residents to provide credible information that could help trace other suspects.
