Security Team Kills 18 Suspected Bandits in Katsina Ambush

A joint security team has reportedly killed 18 suspected bandits during an ambush in Gidan Iyado, Kakumi Ward of Bakori Local Government Area, Katsina State. The operation, carried out around 1 a.m. on September 21, involved hunters, Community Watch Corps members and local vigilantes. Officials said the team acted on intelligence that the group was planning to abduct residents for ransom. Security operatives recovered a G3 rifle, two AK-47 rifles, ammunition, three motorcycles and 96 suspected rustled animals. No casualty was recorded among the security personnel. Authorities said efforts are continuing to track down the gang's alleged leader and dismantle the wider criminal network.
