Defence Minister Proposes Military Training for Nigerians to Build Understanding of Troops’ Sacrifices
Defence Minister Christopher Musa has proposed military training for Nigerians, saying it could help civilians better understand the physical and mental demands faced by troops. Speaking on a leadership podcast, Musa said soldiers often endure hunger, exhaustion, little sleep and long-distance movement during security operations. He said such training could give citizens a clearer perspective on endurance and the sacrifices involved in military service. The minister urged Nigerians to consider the human cost of military deployments when assessing security personnel. He also linked growing border-security concerns to developments in the Sahel and said Nigeria was strengthening cooperation with neighbouring countries, including Cameroon.
