NDLEA Appeals Acquittal of Lagos Socialite Pretty Mike

NDLEA Appeals Acquittal of Lagos Socialite Pretty Mike

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has filed an appeal against the Federal High Court’s decision that cleared Mike Nwalie, popularly known as Pretty Mike, and his co-defendant of all drug-related charges. On April 15, 2026, Justice Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa ruled that the prosecution failed to establish a prima facie case. He held that the evidence amounted to mere suspicion and could not support a conviction. Pretty Mike, owner of Proxy Lagos Night Club in Victoria Island, and Joachim Hillary, the club’s supervisor, were first arraigned on November 5, 2025. The NDLEA had charged them with conspiracy, unlawful possession of illicit drugs, and permitting their venue to be used for illegal drug activities. The agency’s appeal now challenges the acquittal and seeks a retrial of the case.

I no see why dem dey waste time appealing when they never had solid evidence to convict Mike in the first place.

NDLEA should reassess its investigative methods and secure airtight proof before pursuing further legal battles.
