Troops Repel Lakurawa Raid on Sokoto Border Community, Recover Livestock
Nigerian Army troops stationed at the Forward Operating Base in Bachaka, Gudu Local Government Area of Sokoto State, have repelled an attempted raid by suspected Lakurawa terrorists. The attackers reportedly tried to abduct residents and rustle livestock from the border community. Troops engaged them in a gun battle, forcing the group to retreat towards Makera village near the Niger Republic border. The recovered livestock were handed to a community leader. Residents have been urged to continue providing timely information to security agencies, especially in farming communities.
