Newborn Rescued Alive After Alleged Three Days in Benue Forest
A newborn girl was rescued alive after being found abandoned in a carton at Ashar Forest in Wuese community, Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State. A resident reportedly heard signs of life and discovered the baby on Saturday, August 29. Witnesses said the infant was in critical condition and may have spent about three days in the forest. The discovery was reported to a local police outpost, and the baby was taken for urgent medical care after one clinic reportedly could not admit her. The Benue State Police Command said it had not yet received an official report on the incident.
