Alhaji Muhammad Maibarga, a senior JIBWIS cleric, has died in bandit captivity after being abducted in Koko/Besse LGA of Kebbi state. He was taken alongside a former APC local chairman, and a video released by the abductors showed his health deteriorating before his death. The Kebbi Police Command confirmed his passing on June 10, 2026. His family had been working to meet the ransom demands but were devastated by the outcome.
