Court Strikes Out Cybercrime Case Over Alleged Threat Against Kano Governor
A Federal High Court in Abuja has struck out the cybercrime case against Sanusi Dankaka, who was accused of threatening to publish alleged private videos and photographs of Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf. The case was withdrawn after the prosecution applied to discontinue the two-count charge. Dankaka’s lawyer did not oppose the application, and Justice Salim Ibrahim struck out the matter. The DSS had alleged that Dankaka used a Facebook account to make false and malicious claims intended to damage the governor’s reputation. He had earlier pleaded not guilty to the charges.
