Suspected gunmen have killed a security guard, Sunday Adedeji, during an overnight attack on a filling station in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State. The attackers reportedly broke into the station’s supermarket and carted away goods and valuables said to be worth millions of naira. A statement from the office of the senator representing the district said the station had been targeted before. It added that Adedeji escaped an earlier attack shortly before the August 15 governorship election, which was reported to the police.
