Residents of New Jerusalem Estate along the Eneka–Igbo-Etche Link Road have appealed to the chairmen of Etche and Obio-Akpor LGAs to resolve a boundary and ownership dispute involving Atali and Igbo-Etche communities. They say competing claims over the estate have led to multiple demands for fees and levies, leaving homeowners uncertain about which community and local government area has jurisdiction over their properties. The residents want both councils to assess and clearly demarcate the boundary, engage community leaders in peace talks, halt competing levies until the matter is settled, and provide security against harassment. They say they are not taking sides but are seeking clarity, safety and lasting peace.
