Troops Rescue 23 Kidnap Victims, Arrest Four Suspected Terrorists in Sokoto

Troops have rescued 23 kidnapped victims, repelled attacks and arrested four suspected members of the Lakurawa group during separate operations across Sokoto State. In Wurno Local Government Area, troops responded after attackers invaded Sabon Gari and fired shots, forcing residents to flee. Six victims were rescued after the gunfight, while one injured civilian was taken to a medical facility. Troops also rescued 17 victims along the Isa–Kwanar Isa–Shinkafi Road after engaging the attackers. One of the victims, who sustained a fracture, was taken to General Hospital, Isa. In Illela, troops intercepted four suspects allegedly moving rustled cattle from Sarma Village. Six cows were recovered, while the suspects and livestock remain in military custody for further investigation.
