Why Building a Second Income Stream Can Strengthen Your Finances
Working hard at one job is not always enough when bills take most of the income each month. I have started thinking beyond earning more from my main job and focusing on what I can build alongside it. A second income stream does not need to bring in a huge amount immediately. Even an extra ₦20,000 to ₦50,000 monthly can help with bills, savings or reinvestment. It could come from learning a freelance skill, selling a product, offering an online service, creating content or building a small business. I would avoid any opportunity that promises quick money without clear details. Before committing time or cash, I want to know who pays, what I am offering, how the business earns, the skills required, the risks involved and how long profitability may take. The goal is not to chase many hustles at once. It is to build more than one reliable source of income. If you earned an extra ₦50,000 each month, would you use it for savings, bills, investment or growing the business?
