Orette Slams ASP Usman Over Mene Ogidi’s Killing, Demands Probe and Compensation

Delta South Senatorial Candidate Dr. Austin Orette has called on the Police Service Commission to bar sadistic and senseless individuals from joining the Nigeria Police Force. He condemned ASP Nuhu Usman for the fatal shooting of 28-year-old Mene Ogidi, describing the act as barbarism and evidence of a depraved mind. Orette urged a full investigation into Usman’s career and demanded he be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Orette also appealed for compensation for the victim’s family, to be drawn from police pensions and any assets of the officer involved. He encouraged Nigerians to support litigation against the force and challenged the police to embrace democratic values rather than anti-democratic practices inherited from past regimes.
