Ogun Surveyor-General Faces Questions Over Alleged Fake C of O and Survey Irregularities
The Ogun State Bureau of Lands and Survey is under scrutiny following petitions alleging forged Certificates of Occupancy, disputed survey documents and irregular land transactions in Ifo Local Government Area. The petitions concern transactions involving land at Ibogun, Patako/Olorunsogo and Ishoko Village. A private investor alleged that millions of naira were collected for survey plans and C of O processing, but that some of the documents and receipts later presented were forged. The allegations also raise questions over provisional allocation offers reportedly issued in April 2026 for two commercial sites at Patako, each carrying premiums above ₦1.16 billion. The claims have not been established, and the Bureau of Lands and Survey has yet to clarify whether the disputed documents were officially issued. The case highlights the need for land buyers to independently verify survey plans, allocation papers and Certificates of Occupancy before making major payments.
