Umahi Apologises Over Benin–Agbor Road, Orders Action Against Illegal Asphalt Removal

Minister of Works David Umahi has apologised to commuters and residents of Edo and Delta states over the poor condition of the Benin–Agbor Road. During an inspection in Benin City with Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, Umahi directed that contractors or concessionaires found removing asphalt from federal roads without approval should be arrested. He said the Federal Government was aware of the hardship faced by road users and would take urgent steps to restore the route. Governor Okpebholo appealed for calm and urged residents to remain patient as work progresses.
