Yobe Police Probe Alleged Killing of Farm Worker, Rescue Child Chained for Four Months
Yobe State Police Command has launched investigations into the alleged killing of a farm worker in Bursari LGA and the alleged abuse of a nine-year-old pupil in Jakusko LGA. Police said the body of Inusa Abdullahi, a farm worker from Jigawa State, was found near Rini-Kunu Village after he was allegedly tied up and beaten over an accusation of stealing a water-pump generator. Two suspects have been arrested and are being questioned. In a separate case, police arrested a 35-year-old Arabic teacher accused of chaining a nine-year-old pupil for four months. The child has been rescued and is receiving medical care. The Commissioner of Police condemned jungle justice and abuse, urging residents to report suspected crimes to the authorities rather than take the law into their own hands.
