Akpabio Prays for Nigeria’s Security and Peaceful 2027 Elections in Italy
Senate President Godswill Akpabio visited the St. Padre Pio Prayer Ground in San Giovanni Rotondo, Italy, where he prayed for an end to banditry and terrorism in Nigeria, as well as peaceful conduct of the 2027 general elections. Akpabio said he and members of his delegation sought prayers and blessings for Nigeria, their families and themselves. He described insecurity as a major challenge facing the country. He also recalled his wife’s prolonged illness in Germany, which he said deepened his devotion to St. Padre Pio after she recovered from a six-month coma. Akpabio added that his family established the Pio Football Academy to provide training and scholarships for disadvantaged children.
