Justice Served: Owo Church Attack Conviction and Urgent Call to Rescue Abducted Schoolchildren
We commend the Federal High Court for convicting and sentencing those responsible for the horrific attack on worshippers at St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State. This verdict shows that justice may be delayed but will not be denied. We recognize the Federal Government, the DSS, other security agencies and the Judiciary for their courage and diligence. The Owo massacre remains one of our darkest national moments, and this ruling brings a measure of closure to grieving families. While we celebrate this important victory, we call on the government and all security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue every abducted child and captive across the country—especially the schoolchildren taken in Oyo State. Every successful rescue builds public confidence and reinforces the principle that protecting Nigerians is the primary duty of government. We urge all stakeholders to work together until every victim is safely reunited with their families.
