Man Admits He Was Paid ₦500,000 to Pour Acid on Spa Worker but Attacked Wrong Person
A 37-year-old man, Ziaulihak Zakari, has confessed he received ₦500,000 to carry out an acid attack in the Lakowe area of Lagos State. He admitted he was recruited through a security guard and mistook the victim for another woman. The target, spa worker Olorunseunfunmi Awosogbon, suffered severe burns to her head, chest and hands during the October 25 attack. Her employer says the plot stemmed from a dispute linked to a former relationship with another suspect, Owolabi Daniel. Zakari and Daniel have been arraigned in an Ebute-Metta Magistrate Court on charges of conspiracy, threats to life and causing bodily harm, under the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. In a recorded confession, Zakari expressed regret, explaining he was paid for the assault and shared a portion of the fee with the security guard who connected him to the plot.
