Gunmen Abduct APC Chairman as Attacks Continue in Kano Communities

Gunmen reportedly attacked Beli village in Kano’s Rogo Local Government Area in the early hours of Tuesday, killing one resident and abducting the local APC chairman, Alhaji Audu Fanka Salisu Yahaya. Residents said the attackers fired sporadically before breaking into Yahaya’s home and taking him away. A young man was reportedly shot dead, while others sustained gunshot injuries. The incident follows reported attacks in Garin Malam and Bebeji LGAs over the previous two days. Security agencies had not issued an official statement at the time of the report.
