Fayose Disputes Wike’s Claim on Abuja’s 2027 Voting Mood
Isaac Fayose has disagreed with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike’s assertion that opposition parties lack support in Abuja ahead of the 2027 presidential election. Speaking on News Central TV, Fayose claimed that Peter Obi retains strong support in the FCT. Obi was the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in 2023, and no party has formally announced him as its candidate for 2027. Fayose alleged, without providing evidence, that there could be attempts to suppress or manipulate votes. He urged Nigerians to speak with voters directly and called for opinion polls and mock elections to measure public preferences before the election.
