Wike Rebukes APC Governors Over Claims of a New Political Alliance
Nyesom Wike has dismissed claims by APC governors that he is working with opposition coalitions. He said the G5 supported President Bola Tinubu directly in 2023 because it believed the presidency should shift to the South after Muhammadu Buhari's eight years in office. Wike argued that voting patterns in Imo and Ebonyi showed that voters could back different parties for president and National Assembly seats on the same day. He cited Imo, where he said Labour Party won far more presidential votes than the APC despite the APC winning Senate seats. He challenged the governors to explain those results instead of accusing others of political confusion or secret alliances.
