IGP Disu Pledges Robust Security for Osun Governorship Poll

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, visited Osun State ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election. He met with police commanders, INEC officials, traditional rulers, political parties and youth representatives to review security plans and strengthen collaboration. Disu urged officers to remain professional, impartial and courteous. He warned anyone planning to disrupt the election that the police and other agencies will respond decisively under the law. He also visited the state governor and the Ataoja of Osogbo. The IGP thanked traditional leaders for their cooperation and reminded residents to use only registered vehicles with proper number plates or face prosecution.
