Ghanaian Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Sexually Abusing Seven-Year-Old Boy
A High Court in Wa, Ghana, has sentenced 42-year-old Elyasu Kunateh to 10 years’ imprisonment with hard labour for sexually abusing a seven-year-old boy. Police said the child’s mother reported the incident in January 2026. The Regional Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit investigated the case, arranged a medical examination for the child and provided psychosocial support. After a full hearing on July 23, 2026, the court found Kunateh guilty. The Upper West Regional Police Command urged parents, guardians and caregivers to promptly report suspected child abuse and sexual offences.
