Edo Man Remanded Over Alleged Murder of Sister’s Two Children
A Benin High Court has remanded 23-year-old Victor Nanboya over the alleged murder of his elder sister’s two children, eight-year-old Praise Aloye and six-year-old Oghene Eze. Police said the incident happened on August 31 in a bush at Ayogwiri Village, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State. The children were allegedly taken out on the pretext of fetching firewood before they were attacked with a machete. During proceedings, Nanboya allegedly admitted committing the act and claimed he was under the influence of hard drugs. The court ordered his remand for an initial 14 days while the Edo State Director of Public Prosecutions provides legal advice. The case was adjourned to September 25.
