NSCDC Arrests 21-Year-Old for Employer’s Abduction and Murder
The Kwara NSCDC arrested 21-year-old Soliu Mujeeb after his employer, Mr Olarewaju Afolabi, went missing on June 7. Afolabi had left home in Ilorin to inspect an electrical wiring site and never returned. His family later received a N2 million ransom demand but managed to pay only N120,000. Investigators traced the caller through deposits into the victim’s Opay account. Mujeeb, who worked as an electrical apprentice with Afolabi, confessed to luring him to an unfinished building in Ilorin East. He attacked and killed his employer before burying him in a shallow grave and using the victim’s phone to demand ransom. Security operatives recovered Afolabi’s remains, phone and SIM card at the scene. The suspect now faces further investigation and prosecution, as the NSCDC urges residents to remain vigilant and share credible information.
