Anambra Seeks N70bn Stabilisation Fund for Erosion Control, Security and Public Services
Anambra State has requested N70 billion from the Stabilisation Fund to address insecurity, erosion, infrastructure gaps and pressure on public services. The request is before the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission for technical assessment. The state says it has identified more than 1,000 erosion sites across 146 communities and estimates that about N170 billion is needed for critical erosion interventions. It also cited flooding, inflation, sit-at-home disruptions and rising public-sector costs as threats to businesses, revenue and investor confidence. The proposed funding would support security equipment, environmental protection, healthcare, education, agriculture, mineral development and tourism. The commission says it will review Anambra's financial records, project costs, feasibility and expected benefits before deciding whether to recommend the request for approval.
