20-Year-Old JAS Fighter Surrenders to Troops in Borno

A 20-year-old former JAS fighter, Kurso Muhammed, has surrendered to troops of Operation HADIN KAI in Borno State. He reportedly surrendered at about 2:25 p.m. on August 23, 2026, at New Abaram Resettlement Village, where troops of the 21 Special Armoured Brigade took him into custody. The surrender was reportedly linked to sustained intelligence-led military operations. He is undergoing screening and processing as security forces continue operations against terrorist groups in the North-East.
