Questions Raised Over Peter Obi’s Record as Anambra Governor
I believe the recent claims and discussions around Peter Obi’s years as Anambra governor deserve closer scrutiny. I question the handling of loans reportedly obtained for education and health, especially amid strikes by lecturers and doctors at the time. I am also concerned about claims of unpaid salaries, allowances and arrears for some public-sector workers, including water corporation staff. In my view, the lack of local government elections during the period also raises questions about grassroots governance and accountability. The accompanying graphic makes claims about poverty rates under successive Anambra governors, but these figures should be independently verified. I believe supporters should address these issues with evidence rather than dismissing every criticism as tribalism.
