Ogun APC Primary Dispute Deepens as Hunye Sues Yayi Over Past INEC Records

Former Ogun governorship aspirant Abayomi Hunye has filed a suit at the Federal High Court in Abuja seeking a review of Senator Solomon Adeola’s past electoral documents submitted to INEC. Hunye’s legal team said the case concerns the state of origin declared in Adeola’s earlier nomination forms during his political contests in Lagos. The lawyers said they are not disputing Adeola’s Yewa identity, but are asking the court to determine whether the information in documents submitted under oath was consistent. The suit comes amid Hunye’s challenge to the Ogun APC governorship primary of May 21, 2026, in which Adeola was declared winner. Hunye also questioned the party’s claim that he had been suspended before the primary, noting that he was later allowed to buy nomination forms and undergo screening.
